It’s not very often you see such a gorgeous sixties cocktail coat in such perfect condition. The heavenly blue colour of this coat is rarely seen today, and the unique geometric gold pattern that adorns it is quirky and sophisticated. Definitely something to wear on cooler nights, or as a statement piece that's not necessarily a dress. Lastly, worn open, this would absolutely work as a chic maternity look as well.
Fab fact: this dress once belonged to Shirley. As a sassy single woman in the 1960s she worked as an interior decorator. She bought her first house in Sydney’s Paddington when she was 24 years old, all by herself. She didn’t like Sydney though and said it was ‘too snobby yet unsophisticated’ for her tastes, quickly moving back to her native Melbourne. She kept her career until she got married a fellow interior designer. She subsequently left him when it turned out he was gay. A life well lived with many ebbs and flows. Did I mention that a nun stole all her money?
