Fab Fact: This dress was designed by famed Melbourne fashion designer, Jenny Bannister. Designing and selling radical fashions since the 1970s, Jenny found fame after dressing Kylie Minogue at the beginning of her pop music career. Jenny went on to establish a high-end boutique in Chapel street, South Yarra. Later she was recognised by Australia Post as one of the country’s top fashion designers and had her image printed on a series of postage stamps celebrating Australian fashion. Her pieces are now in the archive of the NGV, have been auctioned off by Christie's and worn by celebrities and style icons from around the world. Now retired, she spends her time mentoring the next generation of fashion designers and clothes sellers (like me!). Bought directly from her archive, this piece is a sample that was never put into production and has never been worn. Own a piece of untouched fashion history with this fabulous garment.
